TAV Macedonia and the Ministry of Interior demonstrated mutual readiness on today's simulation exercise at Ohrid Airport to deal with complex security threats

The aim of the exercise "Secure Horizon 2026 - Double Threat" is to present the capacities, capabilities and readiness of the members of the Ministry of Interior, TAV Macedonia, the Firefighting Service and the Emergency Medical Service at TAV Macedonia, as well as their ability for quick and efficient response, as well as the level of coordination and communication between all involved entities.

The activity was implemented through 11 phases, at several locations at Ohrid Airport, simulating a break-in, hostage rescue, neutralization of terrorists and extraction of VIPs.
"Today's simulation exercise at the Ohrid St. Paul The Apostle Airport confirmed the high level of preparedness of TAV Macedonia's security services and the excellent coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
Through such exercises, we strengthen our ability to respond quickly and efficiently in in conditions of complex security challenges. The safety of passengers, employees and infrastructure remains our top priority.

„The purpose of this exercise is to comprehensively test the response system in the face of complex security threats, through simulation of real-life scenarios.
Through such activities, we are checking it the operational readiness of police officers, their ability to react quickly and efficiently, as well as the level of coordination and communication between all involved entities“, said Aleksandar Janev, Director of the Bureau for public security.
Through continuous cooperation and exchange of experiences, TAV Macedonia and the competent institutions will continue to build a secure and resilient system, aimed at protecting passengers, employees and the smooth functioning of airport operations.
